Kundrathur, Kanchi & Uthiramerur temples visit - Aug'14

16th Aug'14:

On this fine Saturday evening, myself along with Vijaya Chitti & Kumar Chittappa got to visit Kundrathur Murugan temple.

As per Hindu Mythology, it is believed that Lord Muruga stayed at this hill during his travel from Thriuporur to Thiruthanigai. This is also called as South Thanigai. 

The presiding deity of  the temple is Lord Subramaniar in standing posture. This is the only temple in Tamilnadu where God is in standing position. We had great dharshan & blessings at the temple. 

17th Aug'14:

On this day, early morning myself along with Vijaya chitti, Kumar Chittappa, his brother & brother's wife started to Kanchipuram. 
First, we got to visit Kanchi Kamakshi amman & then visited Kanchi - Kamakoti Peetam.

Kanchi Kamakoti peetam is a Monastic Institution founded by Aadhi Shankara and has the distinction of an unbroken line of 70 Acharyas (Spiritual leaders). 

We have offered our humble pranams to Maha periyavaa & then visited Orikkai Mahaperiyavaa mani mandapam.

Orikkai Mahaperiyavaa mani mandapam was a great temple for Pujyasri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi swamiji, who was the 68th Shankaracharya of Kamakoti peetam.

The inner sanctum is not the usual Garbagraha but a mani mandapam for Maha periyava. There is a vedha padasala inside and lot of small boys are learning Vedhams there. After getting blessings from Maha periyavaa, visited Kailasanathar temple at Uthiramerur.

Kailasanathar temple at Uthiramerur is an ancient temple of 1250 years old. The presiding deity of the temple is Lord Shiva in the name of Kailasanathar along with his consort Kamakshi amman. We had good dharshan at the temple & then visited Sundara Varadharaja Perumal temple.

Sundara Varadharaja Perumal temple at Uthiramerur is the only Vaishnavaite temple in India with Nine Murthis in three-tier structure. So this temple is also called as Nava Murthy Stalam.

The presiding deity of the temple is Lord Vishnu in the name of Sundara Varadharaja perumal in all his three postures. After receiving blessings from Perumal, visited Balasubramanya swamy temple.

At Bala Subramanya swamy temple - Uthiramerur 
Balasubramanya swamy temple is located adjacent to Sundara Varadharaja perumal temple.
The temple has been revered in Thirupugazh hymns of Arunagirinathar.

The presiding deity of the temple is Lord Muruga and Elephant stands as the Vaganam for Lord Muruga instead of peacock. Offered our humble prayers to Lord Muruga.
