Visit to Lord Shiva & Krishna temples at Mannady & Park town - 18th June'17

18th June'17:

On this fine Sunday evening, Planned to visit Lord Shiva & Krishna temples at Mannady & Mint Street via train. Got down at Beach station, took an auto and reached Sri Ekambareswarar temple at Mint Street.

Lord Shiva at Ekambareswarar temple
Sri Ekambareswarar temple located at Mint Street belongs to one of the Pancha Bhootha Stalams of Chennai representing Earth.

The presiding deity of the temple is Lord Shiva in the name of Ekambareswar and Goddess Parvati Amman. Other deities present in the temple are Lord Ganesha, Subramanyar, Sri Visalakshi amman, Dakshinamurthy, Chandikeswarar, Navagrahas etc., Offered my humble prayers to all the deities and then visited Sri Venugopala Krishna temple.

Sri Venugopala Krishna temple is a rare ancient temple located at Pavalakara Street. The presiding deity of the temple is Lord Krishna holding flute standing with legs crossed in his typical pose along with his consorts Bama & Rukmini on his either sides. 

Other deities available in the temple are Lord Rama, Hanuman & Srinivasa Perumal. Had a great dharshan of Lord Krishna, worshiped all the deities and then visited Sri Kalatheeswarar temple.

Sri Kalatheeswarar temple at Mannady is listed as one of the Pancha Bhootha Stalams of Chennai represents Air. The presiding deity of the temple is Lord Shiva in the name of Kalatheeswarar and Goddess Gnanaprasannambikai. 

The temple renovation was going on, on the day of my visit. Got blessings from Lord Shiva and then visited Sri Mallikeswarar temple.

Sri Mallikeswarar temple is located nearer to Kalatheeswarar temple and has got rich temple architecture. The presiding deity of the temple is Lord Shiva in the name of Mallikeswarar and Goddess Maragadhambal.

Other deities present in the temple are Lord Ganesha, Vishnu, Brahma, Dakshinamurthy, Nagar statues, Bala Murugan, Navagrahas & 63 Nayanamars. Offered my humble prayers to all the deities.
