Antpur, Ichapur & Kamarpukur (West Bengal) temples Visit - Dec'16 (Part 1)

30th Dec'16:

On this fine day, early morning around 6.A.M, myself along with my parents vacated Vivekananda Kutir & then started to Antpur via car. Mathan Athikari accompanied us for the same and got to visit Swami Premananda's Birth place.

Antpur
Antpur is the Holy Birth place of Swami Premananda, fondly called Baburam Ghosh, one of the direct disciple of Shri RamaKrishna. Another important significance of the place is, where Swami Vivekananda and 8 other disciples of Shri Ramakrishna took their Vow of Sannyasa on 24th Dec'1886. We have offered our Humble pranams to Swami Premananda & then visited Holy Mother temple inside.

Holy Mother - Sri Sarada Maa visited Antpur during the year 1889 & stayed here for few days. Now, a shrine was constructed on the place for Holy Trios. Swamiji Vivekananda also got to stay at Antpur.

Offered our Humble pranams to Holy Trios & then visited Sri Ramakrishna Mutt at Ichapur.

Ichapur is the Holy Birth place of Swami Ramakrishnananda, fondly called as Sashi Maharaj (Sashi Bhushan Chakravarthy), who belongs to one of the 16 direct disciples of Shri Ramakrishna.

Met Ashoka Maharaj, who spoke to us very well. He said, "You have identified your goal of reaching God, start working on the same by continuous Jeba & meditaion". Offered our prayers to Holy Trios & Swami Ramakrishnananda, Maharaj offered a delicious lunch. Swami Ramakrishnananda showered his unconditional blessings. Maharaj asked us to take rest at the guest house, after lunch. Around 3.pm, we have started to Kamarpukur & visited Gopeshwar Shiva temple.

Gopeshwar Shiva temple is an age old temple located near the sacred home of Shri Ramakrishna. The presiding deity of the temple is Lord Shiva represented by Lingam. Worshiped Lord Shiva & then visited Shri Ramakrishna Mutt at Kamarpukur.

Most memorable visit of my life to be cherished for Life time!! It was my dream & desire to visit the Birth place of my Guru - Shri Shri Thakur & it got fulfilled this day.

They have offered High - Tea around 4.pm., then we met Maharaj, who arranged guest house for our stay. Refreshed up at the guest house & then visited Sri Ramakrishna Mutt.

Offered our Humble pranams to Guru Mahraj, Attended Arathi at 5.15 p.m., got to see the house where Thakur stayed during his childhood days. Felt awesome divine feel at that place..

Blissful Saturday at the temples of Mylapore - 25th Mar'17

25th March 2017:

On this fine Saturday morning around 9.A.M, myself along with my mom booked an Ola auto to Mylapore, the first temple we have got to visit was Kolavizhi amman temple.

Kolavizhi amman temple popularly known as Pattu Kolavizhi amman temple can be reached by couple of minutes stroll from Mundakagakanni amman temple. The presiding deity of the temple is Kolavizhi amman, a form of Sakthi with excellent eyes.

Kolavizhi amman & Bhadrakaali amman are seen together, the eyes are so compelling as it melts us. We have offered our prayers to Amman & then visited Vaaleeswarar temple.

Vaaleeswarar temple at Mylapore is one of the Sapthasthaana Shiva temple worshiped by Sage Gautama. It was an ancient temple of about 2000 years old, where the presiding deity of the temple is Lord Shiva in the name of Vaaleeswarar.

Other deities available in the temple are Vinayagar, Natarajar, Goddess Sivagami, Lord Subramanya with Valli & Deivanai, Chandeeswarar, Anchaneyar, Vishnu, Durgai & Ayyappan. Worshiped all the deities & then visited Karaneeswarar temple.

Karaneeswarar temple is one of the Sapthasthaana temples of Lord Shiva. The presiding deity of the temple is Lord Shiva in the name of Karaneeswarar and Goddess Porkodi Amman. 

Karaneeswarar is the source / reason for all things to happen. Hence named so.. We had great dharshan & blessings from all the deities and then visited Virupaksheeswarar temple.

Visit to Sangili Karupparayan (சங்கிலி கருப்பராயன்) temple - 30th June'17

30th June'17:

On this fine Friday morning around 11 A.M, myself along with my mom, Jayaprabha Sis, her mom & sister started to Sangili Karupparayan (சங்கிலி கருப்பராயன்) temple via city bus. We have got down at Kanuvai bus stand, took an auto and reached the temple.

Sangili Karupparayan temple is located in outskirts of Coimbatore in a place named Kanuvai. The presiding deities of the temple are Sangili Karupparayan & Muthu Karuppan. 

Around 12pm, Abhishegam (sacred washing) started for the deities. Anyone can contribute milk for the sacred washing of deity. Then followed by Alankaram & Poojas. We have attended poojas and felt great divine feel during the same. Offered our humble pranams to the deity. 

After the poojas, the deity gets in to the Pujari and will provide solution for the problems of every devotees who visit the temple. Then, we had lunch prasadh (Annadhanam) at the temple. 

They have asked me to visit 5 consequent weeks, Hope Sangili Karupparayan will bless me for the same !!

Kolkata, West Bengal temples visit - 29th Dec'16

29th Dec'16:

On this fine Thursday, early morning myself along with my parents visited all the shrines of Belur Math, Had lunch at Komala Vilas, then visited Indian Museum, Nethaji Museum and then Mother Therasa's House.

The Missionaries of Charity's Mother House is a Holy place of pilgrimage established by Holy Mother Therasa in 1950 with the purpose of selfless service to Man kind. After Mother Teresa left her mortal body in 1997, she was laid to rest in a tomb inside the house where she lived and served.

Got to see the wonderful collection of her works, offered our pranams to her tomb and then visited Birla Mandir.

Birla Mandir in Kolkata is built by the Industrialist Birla Family. The temple infrastructure was so beautiful, it took nearly 26 years to build the temple. 

The presiding deity of the temple is Radhe Krishna &  the other deities of the temple are Goddess Durga, Lord Shiva etc., Security people at the temple keep demanding money from all the visitors, should be careful with such people. Glimpsed the wonderful dharshan of the deities & then visited Kalighat Kali temple.

Kalighat Kali temple is one of the 51 Shakthi Peetas, where the various parts of Sati's body are said to have fallen, in the course of Shiva's Rudra Tandava. Kalighat represents the site where the toes of the right foot of Dakshayani or Sati fell.

The temple was so crowded and the crowd were not organized properly. Everyone rushed in. We got to see the great dharshan of Kali and offered our pranams there.

Nungambakkam Temples Visit - 14th Apr'17

On this fine day of Tamil New year / Vishu, evening around 4.30 pm, I have started via Ola auto to Nungambakkam & the first temple I have got to visit was Agatheeswarar temple.

Nungambakkam - Agatheeswarar temple is located near the police station in Valluvar Kottam, High Road. The presiding deity of the temple is Lord Shiva in the name of Agatheeswar, represented by Lingam installed by Sage Agastya & Goddess Akilandeswari in standing pose.

Other shrines available in the temple are Lord Ganesha, Dakshinamurthy, Lord Muruga with Valli & Devasana, Durga, Lakshmi, Saraswathi, Navagraha & Bairav. Offered my humble prayers to all the deities & then walked to Asalathamman temple.

Asalathamman temple is located nearer to Agathesswarar temple. The presiding deity of the temple is Goddess Asalathamman. Worshiped the deity and then walked to Varasiddhi Vinayakar temple.

Varasiddhi Vinayakar temple at Nungambakkam is a very famous temple in that locality. The presiding deity is Lord Ganesha who looks so beautiful & was so powerful. Got blessings from Lord Ganesha and then visited Prasanna Venkatesa Perumal temple.

Prasanna Venkatesa Perumal temple is located nearby Varasiddhi Vinayakar temple where the presiding deity of the temple is Lord Vishnu in the name of Prasanna Venkatesa Perumal & Divine Mother Sakthi as Padmavathy Thaayar. 

Other deities of the temple are Sri Ganapathy, Sri Ramar, Sri Bhakta Anchaneyar, Sri Aandal, Garuda Lingam, Sri Ramanujar etc., Glimpsed the wonderful dharshan of all the deities.

Visit to Little Mount Shrine Church, Saidapet - 4th Nov'16

On this fine Friday morning, around 11 A.M, myself along with my friend Jhansi Rani took an auto and visited Little Mount Shrine at Saidapet

Little Mount Shrine at Saidapet has got more religious importance and visited by lot of Pilgrim groups. It is believed that St Thomas who was one of the twelve Apostles of Jesus and mortally wounded took refuge here.

The underground basalt cave has a perennial spring coming out of the rocks.

The atmosphere was so calm & serene, we have offered our humble prayers at the Shrine, lighted candles & it was so peaceful. There was a shop available in the Church selling Holy water, Holy articles etc..,
