Mylapore Temples Visit - July'16

6th July'16:

It was a Ramzan Holiday !!

Myself along with my mom planned to visit few temples at Mylapore. We have reached Mylapore bus terminus around 4.30 pm, from there we took an auto to Velleeswarar temple.

Velleeswarar temple belongs to one of the sapthasthana temples of Lord Shiva at Mylapore worshiped by saptharishi - Adri, Brigu, Kusta, Vashishta, Gautama, Kasyapa and Angirasa. 

The presiding deity of the temple is Lord Shiva in the name of 'Velleeswarar' and Goddess Kamakshi. We got to see Aarathi & offered our prayers.

Then we walked to Mundagakanni amman temple. 
Worshiped the presiding deity - Mundagakanni amman with twin arms and donned with serpent crown. 

Other deities of the temple are Nagam under Banyan tree, Nardhana Vinayagar, Murugan, Ayyappan, Hanuman & Dakshinamurthy in separate shrines. After seeking blessings from all the deities, visited Madhava perumal temple.

Madhava perumal temple is one of the two ancient temples of Lord Narayana with the two sacred names Madhava & Kesava.

The presiding deity of the temple is Madhava perumal along with his consort Lakshmi as Amrithagadavalli. We had blissful time at the temple and then visited Adi Kesava perumal temple.

Aadhi kesava perumal temple is located adjacent to Madhava perumal temple. The presiding deity of the temple is Lord Vishnu worshiped as Sri Aadhi Kesava perumal and his consort as Mayuravalli thaayar.

This temple is believed to the Birth place of Peyazhwar and there is a separate shrine for the Sanit - Peyazhwar. We have offered our humble prayers everywhere & then visited Srinivasa Perumal temple.

Sri Vedana desikar Srinivasa perumal is located next to Sri Aadhikesava perumal temple. The Idol Maha Vishnu looks so beautiful. Had a great divine feel at the vibrant & active temple.

It has started raining heavily at the time we left the temple. Booked a cab and reached home.

Thirumullaivoyal temples visit - Feb'17

4th Feb'17

On this fine Saturday evening, myself along with my mom visited Thirumullaivoyal via train. From there we hired an auto to reach Masilamaniswarar temple.

Masilamaniswarar temple is incarnated in the hymns of Thevaram and is classified as 'Paadal petra Stalam'. 


At Masilamaniswarar temple 
The presiding deity of the temple is Lord Shiva in the name of 'Masilamaniswara' & the Divine mother Sakthi as 'Kodiyidai Nayaki Amman'. Sri Kodiyidai Amman is one of the Trisakthi represents 'Kriya Sakthi' (Power of activity). 

We have offered our prayers & started. Within few meters away from the temple, got to visit 'Sorna Venkatesa perumal' temple.

It was a small temple with the presiding deity as 'Sorna Venkatesa Perumal'. Glimpsed the wonderful dharshan of Perumal, offered our prayers and started to 'Pachiamman temple'.

On the way to 'Pachiamman temple' got to visit Swami Ayyappan temple, Poojas are performed well there. Offered our Pranams to Swami Ayyappan and then visited Pachaiamman temple

The presiding deity of the temple is Divine Mother Sakthi is the name of 'Pachaiamman' full of green color looks beautiful. Had a wonderful dharshan, Arathi at the temple and then took an auto to reach out to Sri Vaishnavi Shrine.

Sri Vaishnavi shrine is a privately owned temple founded by Sri Swami Anvananda. Worshiped the presiding deity Sri Vaishnavi and experienced a great ecstasy.

Alleppey temples Visit - Oct'16

13th Oct'16:

A memorable Holy trip to God's own country - Kerala with parents. We got to stay at Alappat Home Stay. Unfortunately, it was declared Kerala Bandh - the day. Mr.Raju & family helped us to get some food and asked us to visit the temples by evening. 

Mullakkal - Sri Raja Rajeshwari temple (Temple 47)

Around 4.30 pm, we have walked to Mullakkal - Sri Raja Rajeshwari temple from Alappat Home Stay. It was a beautiful temple structured in Old Kerala Architectural style.

The presiding deity of the temple is 'Durga Maa' with four arms, popularly known as 'Mullakkal Devi' or 'Mullakkal Amma'. Other deities of the temple are Lord Ganesha, Hanuman Swami, Subramanya Swami, Nagaraja, Navagraha, Sree Krishna & Lord Ayyappa, Offered our pranams to all the deities of the temple. Also got to view the beautiful pond inside the temple.

On the way, we got to visit 'Vadakku Vasal devi' temple. Offered our pranams. From there Mr.Raju arranged an auto to visit other temples.

The presiding deity of the temple is Bhuvaneshwari also called as 'Valiya Amma' which means 'Great mother'. We have offered our prayers to Valiya Amma and also to other deities - Lord Ganapathy, Lord Krishna & Goddess Bhadra and then started to Ambalapuzha Krishna temple.

Around 6.30 pm, we have visited the temple, as Kerala's style the lamps were lit and the view was awesome. The presiding deity of the temple - Lord Krishna was so beautiful. 

Glimpsed the wonderful dharshan at the temple and then visited Mannarsala Sree Nagaraja temple.

Mannarsala - Sree Nagaraja temple is one of the best place for Serpent Worship, as the place is blessed and envisaged by Lord Parasurama - the creator of Kerala.

Temples has over 30,000 images of snakes along the paths and among the trees, Offered our prayers to serpents and then Visited Haripad - Sri Subramanya temple

Haripad - Sri Subramanya swamy temple is one of the oldest temple of Kerala built before the advent of Kali Yuga.

The presiding deity of the temple is Lord Muruga in four armed form with Vel in one hand, Vajrayudha in other hand, one hand bestowing blessing and the other toughing its thighs. We had a wonderful dharshan of Lord Muruga, offered our prayers.

Sri Gaudiya Math & Venu Gopalaswamy temples visit - Oct'16

3rd Oct'16:

On this pleasant Monday evening, myself along with my mom got to Visit 'Sri Gaudiya Math' at Royapettah via Ola auto.

Sri Gaudiya Mutt is a replica of Krishna temples in Bengal. The main deities of the temple are Radha - Krishna with Shri Chaitanya maha prabhu.

The temple was dedicated to other Vaishnavaite saints. There is a big hall available, where Bhajans are performed daily. We have offered our pranams to the deities & heard Bhajans.

Participating in Bhajans really gave a divine feel. After our pranams, we walked to Venugopalswamy temple at Gopalapuram.

The presiding deity of the temple is beautiful Idol of Krishna with four arms known as Venugopala. Other deities available in the temple are Lord Ganesha, Lord Muruga with his consorts Valli & Devasana, Rama with Laxman & Sita, Lord Hanuman & Aadhisankara.

We have offered our pranams to the deities & had a great evening at the temples.

Thiruninravur & Thiruvallithaayam temples Visit - Sep'16

On this fine Saturday afternoon myself along with my mom visited Thiruninravur via train, we hired a share auto from Thiruninravur station to reach Thiruninravur - Bhaktavatsala perumal temple

Thiruninravur Bhaktavatsala perumal temple belongs to one of the 108 Dhivyadesams, glorified in Dhivya prabhandha..

Glimpsed the wonderful dharshan of the presiding deity - Bhaktavatsala perumal & his consort 'Ennai petra thaayar'. Experienced awesome divine feel inside the temple and then visited Hridayaleeswarar temple.

Hridayaleeswarar temple was located at few mtrs away in opposite direction from Bhaktavatsala perumal temple. This temple is a sign for Poosalar Nayanar's (Nayanmar 3) intense devotion.

Poosalar Nayanar hailed from the town, 'Ninravur', was a devotee of Lord Shiva, built a temple for Lord Shiva in his heart, as he's not rich enough to built a temple of his own. Lord Shiva was inspired by his devotion and appeared in dreams of the king to build a temple at the same place as built in Poosalar's heart. Hence it's named as Hridayaleeswarar.

The main deity of the temple was Hrudayaleeswarar & Goddess Maragada ambika. We had a divine evening at the temple.

Next we got to visit Yeri Kaatha Ramar temple.The presiding deity of the temple is Lord Rama along with his consort Sita & Lakshmana gives dharshan in standing posture.

An uniqueness of the temple is Sri Anchaneya carrying Lord Rama & Lakshmana on his shoulders. We have offered our humble prayers to the deities and then started to Padi Shivan temple.

Sri Tiruvalleeswarar temple at Padi is one of the Paadal Petra Stalam. 

The presiding deity of the temple is Lord Shiva in the name of Tiruvalleeswarar and his consort Jagathambikai in different Sanctum. It is also known as Guru Stalam with the separate Shrine for Guru Bhagawan. 

We had Blissful evening at the temples.

One day Pilgrimage trip to Karur - August'14

31st Aug'14:

On this pleasant Sunday morning, myself along with parents & Bhavani Chitti started from Coimbatore around 5.30 AM via train. Got down at Karur Station and took an auto to visit the holy spots. First we got to visit 'Kacheri Pillayar' temple

A beautiful Ganesha temple, we have offered our prayers to the First & Foremost God - Ganesha.

Next we visited Karur - Maariamman temple. The Presiding deity is Maariamman with four hands graces facing east. We had a great dharshan at the temple & offered our Humble Pranams.

Then we visited Karur Ranganathar temple, where the presiding deity Ranganathar is at reclined position. After offering our pranams, visited 'Vishwakarma Siddhi' Vinayakar temple.

It was a small Vinayakar temple, offered our prayers here and then visited 'Pasupatheeswarar temple'

Pasupatheeswarar temple belongs to one of the Seven Shiva stalams of Kongunadu, also belongs to one of the 275 Paadal petra Stalams.

The presiding deity of the temple is Kalyana Pasupatheeswarar, along with his consort 'Alangaravalli' in different sanctum. We did meditation at 'Karoorar' sannidhi.

A separate hall (Mandapam) was available for the Nayanmar - Pugazh Chozha Nayanar (Nayanmar 2). We really felt a great divine feel at the temple. Around 12pm, we had lunch at a restaurant and started to Nerur via City Bus

This temple is located in front of Sadhasiva Brahmendra Samadhi. Temple opened around 4pm, offered our prayers to Kasi Vishwanathar & Vishalakshi amman.

Sadhasiva Brahmendra Adhistanam is built near Vilvatree as a tribute to him, so tranquil place for doing meditation.
The atmosphere was so nice. We did meditation and had a great spiritual feel.
